NGP VAN Hires Congressional Leadership Aide for Senior Marketing Position

WASHINGTON, DC – NGP VAN, the nation’s leading technology provider to Obama for America and thousands of Democratic campaigns and progressive organizations announced that it has hired Kat Skiles, formerly the Press Secretary & Director of Online Strategy for the Democratic Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives.

In her new role, Skiles will parlay a wealth of communications experience into the management of NGP VAN's marketing execution and strategy development. She will also act as its spokesperson.

At each point in her career, Skiles has utilized her creativity and expertise to strengthen the brand and message of the elected officials and Democratic organizations for whom she was employed. Her work for the House Democratic Caucus includes the development of both online and offline strategy guidance for Members of Congress and their staffs.

Skiles has been recognized as Washington City Paper's Best Gay Activist and the Washington Blade's Best LGBT Hill Staffer. Though her career on Capitol Hill is extensive, Skiles is no stranger to progressive politics, having served the campaigns of Congressman Henry Waxman and Congresswoman Jackie Speier, as well as the podium script staff at the Democratic National Convention.

The announcement of Kat Skiles as NGP VAN's Vice President of Marketing & Communications comes on the heels of other notable achievements for the company.
